Media & Print Specs

Pigment printing is a method of archival fine art printing using an inkjet printer and archival pigment inks. Commonly referred to as Giclee printing. The level of detail & colour surpasses any other form of digital printing. The limited print editions refer to the total number of prints that will ever be done of that one image. For example an edition of 150 prints may come in three different sizes but there will only ever be 150 of that particular image every printed.

We use the finest papers and cotton rags for our limited edition prints. Each print is available in the paper/cotton rag best suited to that print, but we have allowed as much flexibility as possible, so you can choose what suits you best. We believe the natural white (rather than bright white) complements the images and suits most decors and framing. We have given you the option of the Epson Fine Art Cotton Rag Hot Press Natural, when suitable, to illustrate the finest detail, as this is showcased with the smooth finish.
The rag & paper are very similar in appearance.
The rag (Cold Press) has 100% cotton fibre base, it feels and looks like paper. It is slightly creamier and has a more uniform texture.
The German Etching has a more organic looking texture and the colour is a natural white.
We offer the Hot Press for prints that benefit from a smooth finish to showcase the finest detail. We originally had just the Hot Press & the German Etching, but there was a need for the paper colour to match between the textured stock and smooth stock so we added the Cold Press.
