Autumn roar

March 23, 2025

Autumn roar
Even when you’re in the middle of a hectic week, when the weathers perfect it’s time to go. We met my sister, her husband and baby at a random spot in the mountains to listen to the deer roar. Three nights, four days of quiet (apart from the kid’s partying hard & making a huge amount of noise when least wanted), hot days, cold nights and stillness. An amazing experience, adventuring, discovering, big starry skies, and great cousin time. Feeling recharged, de-stressed and the kids loved it. Now just to fight the mountain ‘hangover’ (wanting to stay) but reality calls.
Weathers looking good, now you make it happen.

Poolburn Dam is nestled in a vast rolling landscape of unusual rock formations and is a popular spot for trout fishermen to spend some time trying their luck.

The reflections on the water will be a challenge. I want to retain some softness here as to not take attention away from the intricately detailed mountain range above. In particular the shadow play on Mt Potts and snow detail on the surrounding peaks.
