The Breaker Bay painting has evolved into a passion project, which unfortunately is not ideal when making a living as an artist. I have been lost in endless hours of weaving together the layers of fauna, harmonising the colours and am now moving into the final detail stages in areas. At over 2meters wide it is very easy to spend a day meandering along the native fauna and step back and feel like not much changed. However it is in the details with this one.
I’ve been keeping busy in the studio over the past few weeks, adding fine detail to current works and beginning to map out new scenes. Pictured here is one of the paintings I’m currently working on - a depiction of one of the tarns catching the morning light on the St Arnaud Range above
A small weather window was approaching which fitted a small local adventure that we'd had on the list for many years but never got around to despite it being so close. I'd only ever been up to 900m on hunting trips in the past but...
