Been working out what will be going on this year. Looks like "High Country Dawn" will be my last available new painting for 2021. For those of you who haven’t seen this one, here it is.
High Country Dawn, Poolburn Dam, Central Otago, New Zealand
Original acrylic painting on cedar framed board by Michelle Bellamy
1200 x 600mm
Rich in layers of golden red hues, High Country Dawn features a old bus seemingly stuck permanently in place at Poolburn Dam. Poolburn Dam is nestled in a vast rolling landscape of unusual rock formations and is a popular spot for trout fishermen to spend some time trying their luck. The landscape was tinged in frost from a clear -11 degree autumn night and was completely peaceful as the dawn broke.
High Country Dawn just won the Hope and Sons Peoples Choice Award for 2020

On the second afternoon, after lots of up and down ridge-line scrambling we approached Lake Morgan...
Camp Stream Hut, a historic musterers hut on the Te Araroa trail near Tekapo with Roundhill in the background. On this particular trip the walk out was sodden with snow melt and my feet lost feeling in the last main river. Brr…
