Michelle has just completed her new works for a joint exhibition of paintings by Michelle Bellamy & David Stones at the Quiet Dog Gallery in Nelson. Michelle has a new collection of work available. Starting with recent works near the sea, linking together by the hues of low light, and transferring into the mountain tarns of the Nelson Lakes region. We would love to see you at the opening and hear your thoughts on Michelle's latest collection.
The exhibition runs until the 9th of March 2019 at the Quiet Dog Gallery in Nelson, New Zealand.

A sneak peek at a painting currently progressing well in the studio at the moment. Featuring one of the unique sun drenched fishing huts at Poolburn Dam, in Central Otago. Poolburn Dam is nestled in a vast rolling landscape of unusual rock formations and is a popular spot for trout fishermen to spend some time trying their luck.

The reflections on the water will be a challenge. I want to retain some softness here as to not take attention away from the intricately detailed mountain range above. In particular the shadow play on Mt Potts and snow detail on the surrounding peaks.

The Lake Emma painting is evolving into a masterpiece of gorgeous colour and detail. At 1200 x 700mm the space in this new work is allowing me to incorporate some very intricate detail in the mountains, and will allow me to also paint the fine sun-lit tussocks in the foreground.
