Rainbow/ Molesworth Stations

Riding the bike through the Rainbow/Molesworth Stations recently I came to the Coldwater Creek campsite where I met a lady with two horses and not much else on a journey from the top of the South Island to the bottom. Her solo path is an inspiring one, exploring our beautiful country at a much slower pace, and therefore absorbing the landscape and human interactions much more thoroughly. I painted Stanley Point Sailboats, with summer fun in mind, the distant moorings and the expectations of the local kids doing backflips into the sea. This contrasting with the urban city-scape. Stanley Bay is a beautiful area - it's right in the heart of Devonport but almost feels like it's own little retreat.
