I have put the final layers on the tarn and am now adding in the sun bleached tussocks that overlap the tarn and carry on in front of the hill shadow. These tussocks are more of the individual strands, very detailed and time consuming to do as the more layers the better. I am pleased with how these are progressing, just trying to make sure they don't look too stiff. There is also some mountain fauna in various colours that contrast nicely with the snow grass.

Exploring the Molesworth last week while filling the very empty freezer. We started with a typical Molesworth -5 degree night after a light snowfall, but it warmed up (for the Molesworth) as the days passed. The Molesworth is a stunning high alpine dryland which I think is equal to, and possibly more beautiful than Central Otago. About 10,000 cattle cruise around the flatlands...

A sneak peek at a painting currently progressing well in the studio at the moment. Featuring one of the unique sun drenched fishing huts at Poolburn Dam, in Central Otago. Poolburn Dam is nestled in a vast rolling landscape of unusual rock formations and is a popular spot for trout fishermen to spend some time trying their luck.
