Still working consistently on this scene from Falls Dam. Progress is gradually slowing down as I’ve been moving between shaping the hills and adding detail, texture and softness to the long grass.
A photo never really show the contours of the land properly, I enjoy adding more shape and depth using a range of colours to make the hills more three dimensional. I’ve also added in the base shape/colour of the clouds, this darker colour in the sky is a good reference for the ‘eye’ to get the correct tonal values for the rest of the painting.
