Now officially available as a limited edition art print is Sundown at Lake Morgan, Mt O'Shanessy, West Coast, New Zealand - available in four sizes available to fit your space perfectly. This art print is an archival quality reproduction made from the original painting by artist Michelle Bellamy. The painting was inspired by a three day, two night traverse of the tops from the Taramakau River, to Lake Morgan, Mt O'Shanessy and out via the Crooked River. This scene captures the unique essence of a West Coat sunset casting golden rays across the valleys from the top of Mt O'Shanessy. If you are wondering where Lake Morgan is - it's to the east of Lake Brunner centrally located on the tops, accessed via the Arthurs Pass Rd (Taramaku River), Rotomanu (Crooked River) or from the Hapiri side. Lake Morgan Hut is a cosy spot not far from the lake and there are numerous tarns and beautiful rivers to appreciate depending on which way you walk. View the print in more detail here.

A while ago I explored the Arthurs Pass area with my good friend Dulkara, we walked up the Taramaku River, bush bashed through the thick & steep bush up to the open tops where we spent three days traversing the ridges. On the second afternoon, after lots of up and down ridge-line scrambling we approached Lake Morgan...
