Basking in the warm evening light, this little yellow family bach enjoys a spectacular setting along Nelson’s iconic Boulder Bank. In this art print the cheerful sun-warmed colour stands out against the stark, weather-beaten landscape, capturing the simple charm and character of these unique coastal retreats.
The Boulder Bank (Te Taero a Kereopa) is a naturally formed 13.5-kilometre spit of smooth, rounded boulders stretching west from Glenduan. Shaped by coastal currents over thousands of years, the seaward edge is dotted with rock pools and reefs, creating rich fishing grounds for kingfish, snapper, blue cod and kahawai. 
Just four fishing baches now remain along this remote stretch of the Boulder Bank, following the destruction of one in a fire in 2025. Life here is wonderfully simple but exposed, with no running water, no power and little shelter from the elements. A couple of hardy, stunted pōhutukawa trees provide the only respite from the summer sun.

    With a textured finish, Cold Press Natural is composed of a true 100% cotton fibre base. The cotton Rag is designed for museum quality fine art work, it is a warm white and delivers beautiful tonal transitions.

    With a rougher textured finish it is a traditional mould-made copperplate printing paper. The natural white art paper is made from 100% alpha cellulose and is one of the most popular papers for fine art prints and art reproductions thanks to its characteristic tactile feel and surface texture.

Description

This archival quality print is made using the highest quality museum grade pigment inks and is available on two lightly textured papers. The inks and papers are designed to last for generations. Each fine art reproduction is colour proofed by Michelle and hand signed & dated at the base with edition number and title. The print size refers to the dimensions of the image, each print also has an additional 50mm unprinted border. The Petite Print collection (245 x 245mm size) has a smaller 30mm unprinted border.

We offer a selection of black, white, brown, dark brown and raw oak frames, available in a range of profiles to complement the size and style of your artwork.
Our black and white frames are made in New Zealand from pine and finished with a durable, smooth painted surface.
The brown and dark brown frames are also crafted from New Zealand pine, with a stained, textured finish that brings warmth and character to the artwork.
For a more natural look, our raw oak frame features a beautiful solid timber construction with a simple, untreated finish that allows the natural grain of the wood to show.
If you have something different in mind, we can also arrange a custom framing option to suit your artwork and interior.
