The location of this painting is also very special, the distant saddle in the far mountain range lit on one side by the sun is Fowlers Pass. So if you get the Topo map out I'm sure you can pinpoint where this fence line is.
The fence line tells a story, this scene is at about 1400-1500m and relatively remote with harsh conditions, and not a lot up there for stock to munch on - yet at places yet there are old fence lines right up the ridges. I can only imagine the ideas for the area back in the day when this was put in and sheer effort to do so.
