New work in the Quiet Dog Gallery in Nelson New Zealand. Rhythm of Blues, Boulder Bank, Nelson. 

Here is the completed piece, Mid Morning Mai Mai, Best Island in the Waimea Estuary, Nelson, New Zealand. Michelle has always wanted to explore her hometown in her work, and her latest paintings feature the beautiful surrounds of the Nelson Bays. With delicate layers of acrylic paint, she builds subtle colours and intricate detail in this painting. With soft hues of green and blue she portrays the Richmond Ranges, that have been her playground over the years.

Here is a sneak peak of the latest painting in progress. The second from the Best Island Mai Mai collection. This one features the majority of the Richmond Ranges in Nelson, New Zealand, with a little Mai Mai alone in the foreground. Using subtle blues with hints of green and a touch of warmth, this painting is a more gentle, calming scene.
Michelle is hoping to finish this one in the next couple of weeks.

Also available is a new painting, Little Mai Mai, Best Island, Nelson New Zealand. Featuring one of the mai mai's in the Monaco estuary, Little Mai Mai also showcases the Richmond ranges in the background. For more detailed images have a look in the New Works gallery.

Love blue? Here is a new painting finished this week of a Boulder Back Bach, Big Blue Day. Acrylic on Board 585 x 585mm. Extremely detailed, have a look in the New Works gallery for more images.

After a few years of hibernation, Michelle is starting to finish all those unfinished works. New out are Autumn Solace, a commission, and Fisherman's Village. Fisherman's Village is part of a upcoming art award, so is temporarily unavailable.
In April 2018 Michelle and her father Steve Bellamy are having a joint exhibition at the Atkins Gallery, Nelson. Michelle will have a good selection of limited edition prints and two of her favourite works, leaving the walls in her house bare, in the show. Dates will be sent out soon.
